I made my way to Ruth's Diner tonight for the first time. 4160 Emigration Canyon Road Salt Lake City ruthsdiner.com. I had the Cajun bacon bleu burger and I could have eaten two of them they were so good. In fact, I'm craving another right now. It was a perfect night. We ate outside on the back patio, the drive up the canyon was beautiful, and the food was quite satisfying. The menus have some information on Ruth herself and her wild and entertaining past. Below is a short excerpt. "As a young woman, she was very handsome. The pictures on the wall of the diner show that much. Ruth performed in some of the bars around Salt Lake City as a cabaret singer from about 1912 to 1916. She tells of being dragged off the stage one night by a jealous woman with a fierce grip on her hair. Ruth recovered quickly and “the biddy regretted herself for some time to come" Ruth’s Diner is located in historic Emigration Canyon, being the second oldest operating restaurant in Utah provides a rich history of great service and good food. The canyon location provides beautiful large creek side patios with spectacular views in the summer and a warm comfortable escape in the winter. Famous for its award-winning comfort food served at breakfast, brunch and dinner. The menu is a collection of family favorites and comfort classics from the family cookbook.
